Privacy Policy

This policy explains what PalBan Network ("the app") stores, why, who can see it, and how to have it changed or removed. It covers two groups of people: staff who sign in, and players who appear on a server's banlist.

Staff who sign in

You sign in with Discord. The app asks Discord only for the identify permission, which gives it:

• your Discord user ID, username and avatar.

It never sees your email, password, servers or messages. The app also keeps:

• when you last signed in, and a session record for each signed-in browser (with its user agent string);
• which servers you belong to and your role on each;
• an audit log of what you do in the app, such as adding, editing or merging bans, changing the team, or changing settings. Admins and owners of a server see its log, and site admins see network events.

If someone who isn't on the whitelist tries to sign in, their Discord ID and username are written to the audit log so the site owner can see the attempt.

Players on a banlist

Server staff add bans by hand or by uploading a CSV or Excel file. A ban can hold:

• the player's Game ID (for example a Steam or Xbox ID) and in-game name;
• their Discord username and ID, if the server has them;
• IP addresses the account connected from;
• the reason, ban date, expiry, unban date and status;
• private notes written by the server's staff.

The app only stores the columns staff choose to import. The uploaded file itself is deleted once the import finishes, so columns that weren't imported (such as emails in some exports) aren't kept.

Why this is stored

To help servers keep cheaters and rule breakers out: to record bans, spot the same player or their alt accounts across bans and servers, and let servers share and merge bans. The app doesn't sell data, show ads, or use any analytics or tracking.

Who can see what

• The server's own team sees its bans. IP addresses are shown only to the roles the server's owner picks. Private notes are shown only to moderators and above.
• Every other server on the network can see each ban's Game ID, player name, reason (with any IP addresses hidden), dates and status, and can copy it into its own banlist. They never see IPs, Discord details or notes.
• Partner servers can also see IP addresses and Discord details on bans that match their own players, but only if the owner turns IP sharing on for them.
• Anyone with a server's banlist.txt link can read the Game IDs of that server's active bans, and nothing else. The link is off unless the server turns it on.

To find the same player across servers, the app also keeps a network index. It holds only scrambled (keyed hash) versions of Game IDs and Discord IDs, never the IDs themselves, and never IP addresses.

Cookies

The app sets one cookie to keep you signed in, and a short-lived one during Discord sign-in to protect against forged logins. Both are needed for the app to work. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long it's kept

Bans stay until the server that added them edits or deletes them, or deletes the server. Lifted bans stay on record as lifted. Sessions expire on their own. Audit log entries are kept so changes can be traced, including after a server is deleted.

Where it's stored

With the app's hosting provider and in its database. Discord handles sign-in under its own Privacy Policy.

Your choices

• If you're a player and think a ban about you is wrong, contact the server that banned you: each ban belongs to that server and only its staff can change it. If you can't reach them, or want your data removed, contact the site owner through the Discord server where you found this app and we'll pass the request on or deal with it.
• If you're staff, you can leave a server's team at any time. To have your account and sign-in history deleted, contact the site owner through the Discord server where you found this app.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete data about you, or to object to how it's used. Send those requests to the site owner through the Discord server where you found this app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. See also the Terms of Service.
